Rodarte Fall 2013

Rodarte always has the best jewelry for their runway shows. Its basically a fact. I'm still trying to justify buying one of the Star Hair Pins. Their Fall 2013 show was another stunner featuring tri-tone barbed wire jewelry. I'm a big fan of anything tough made delicate and feminine. Lucky for you (and me) the whole collection is available via Moda Operandi, and you only have to put down half for a deposit, its like couture lay away.

Society of Illustrators

I just found out my piece "Wet & Dry" was selected to be in the Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Exhibition and Catalog! Only 270 pieces were chosen from 8,595 submissions. CRAZY

Preview of a skateboard design for a project. The black areas will all be laser etched into a wood board. I'll post an image of the insane laser cut file at some point.  

Trash Bird

I did this piece for my Children's book illustration class, the prompt was "I love when you try and eat dessert without having dinner first". I don't know if children's book illustration is my calling but I like the way this little pigeon turned out

Oil Slick

I loved the oil slick manicure from Rebeca Minkoff's Fall 2013 show the other day so I thought I'd give it a try. They used all gold and blue shades from Essie, but I decided to try it with Smoldering by Revlon, Just Spotted the Lizard by OPI and Graphite Gravity by Sally Hansen. Use the lightest color as a base coat and once that dries apply blobby lines of each color from darkest to lightest. Use a small brush to gently swirl the colors, careful not to blend them. And there you go, nails that look like pretty little puddles of toxic sludge.

Gone by Rips

My boyfriend's band, Rips, just released their first single.

Hunting For

I'm a big fan of overalls in general but lately I'm really into the leather version, mostly because it's been too cold to leave my apartment and I think they could be the only good-looking counterpart to a ski suit. Alas, the Phillip Lim version is sold out, like everything I want always is. BUT the kind people at Pixie Market just put out a similar version for a fraction of the price, there may be hope for me yet.
