Now that I'm working mainly from home doing freelance illustration, fabric printing and making items for Etsy I was in desperate need of a proper studio space. Until I graduate and Bono and I can get out of Manhattan, my nook will have to do.
I have a pretty organized setup here. I got the desk with that amazing lightbox and drawer system that acts as a sewing table at Ikea. I built the shelf myself with lumber and a few brackets I picked up at Home Depot, I drilled a few holes in the wood so that the pods for my paint could hang from it. I'm still hoping to stain the wood a beautiful dark color. Its created so much more desk space which helps since Bono and I share one desk. I get to house all my sewing, fabric design and sketch books and his recording equipment fits nicely too.
I feel so guilty I cut most of these out of my American Illustration book. They are just too beautiful to stay hidden away in a book. The others are just postcards I've been sent. I would really love to find some frames but for now scotch tape will do.
I've always loved silhouettes, I have a tattoo of two on my left wrist, and I found these at an antique store on 1st ave. The braided piece on the right is going to hopefully be printed as a silk scarf so keep checking my etsy!
